By chance a few months ago Susan met a wonderful lady, a retired seamstress. She asked if her four sewing machines, recently serviced, could be taken to Africa. So, on our trip last October we took 89 kilos of goods (!), including one of the sewing machines.
It was gratefully received by Haile Mariam who lives in Lalibela. He is pictured learning how to operate the machine, which will be used to help supplement the family income. Haile Mariam supports a large extended family including orphaned children.
